Habakkuk 2:2-3
Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
The following may be considered taking this scripture out of context because, when you read the next verse, you realize that God was referring to a specific vision. But then again, it is not the only time that God reveals things to his servants and asks them to write them down. Also, I claim to be a writer, so, you would think, I should have the concept of the importance of writing things down etched in my brain by now, but…
Anyway, let’s get to the point. We have about a week left in 2017. As the year draws to a close one cannot help but reflect on the past year and see this as an opportunity to start over and make some changes toward bettering themselves. I’ve talked, here, about the fact that I stopped making New Year’s Resolutions a while back. It proved to be quite a futile exercise since I was never able to keep up with my list and inadvertently I ended up with the opposite of what I had intended.
Through this month’s writing challenge though, I have discovered that there is on habit that I will have to acquire (there may be more, but we’ll stick with this one for now and build on it) that will help me be less stressed. That is, planning things in advance and Writing Things Down!
So many times, through this month I have come up with great ideas for my blog but, because I have failed to write them down, I end up forgetting after several hours and having to come up with something completely new. So, starting tonight, I will be writing my plans down to help ease the pressure throughout my life. Since I’m starting today, I think it’s safe to say it’s not your typical New Years Resolution. Right?
One last important point, as I continue to plan things as much in advance as I can and write them down, I will also remember Proverbs 16:
Proverbs 16:3 (AMP) Commit your works to the Lord [submit and trust them to Him], And your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance].
