Psalms 27:4: One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.
This evening we had our Candle-lit Christmas Eve (eve) service at church. It was a simple beautiful service where we sang Christmas worship songs, lit candles and experienced the beautiful presence of Immanuel. I loved it!
As Christmas day draws closer, many of us are in the rush of buying last minute presents, travelling to see family and generally looking forward to the gifts, and food, and fun to be had. Me, I’m just sitting over here overwhelmed by the beauty of who Christ is. Mainly the fact that He is Immanuel, God with us. And like David in the 27th Psalm, I desire to dwell with Him, to gaze upon His beauty and to learn from Him. I want to be Mary, sitting at Jesus’ feet, engrossed on His majesty.
Come, let’s adore Him…
