So thus my week begins with a smile. I bet it will be an awesome one.

So last week I blogged about “delving deeper” and since the blog is about my life, I am delving deeper into myself. When delving, you have to start from the beginning (hence the title of this post) so here we go.

Genesis 1 :1 and John 1:1; This are two verses in the Bible that tell about the beginning. But they don’t tell about my beginning. The verse that tells about my beginning is John 3:16. It is the first Bible verse I ever memorized and it is the verse that reminds me, constantly, the beginning of my heavenward journey.

I first got saved when I was a VERY LITTLE girl (I think I was 4 or 5 yrs). We had guests at home and after lunch my auntie took all of us kids to the garden to tell us about God. I remeber being very fascinated about this amazing being called God. I looked up at the sky and I saw some clouds that formed the shape of a man. I thought to myself, “That must be God, He’s so big and white and beautiful.” (oh to be young and naive…) My auntie then made us recite John 3:16, which we already knew of course, and then explained it to us in detail. I don’t really remember my perception of it at the time, but right now it is the most important thing in my life… well, along with every other “most important thing” I may mention in future, nothing is set in stone (except the 10 commandments).

1 Corinthians 6 : 19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

Emphasis on, “you are not your own; you were bought at a price.” so what was the price?

Romans 6 : 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life inChrist Jesus our Lord.

In the above verse we see that the price is death and in John 3:16 we see that Jesus paid the price and thus we received the gift of eternal life (we’re back to Romans) from God. and thus the beginning of my journey.

Now, along the way there’s hardships and the other way seems so enticing but as soon as I remember where I’m from, where I’m going and where the other way leads, I have to keep on going. Just like all y’all should.

In as much as salvation is personal, the body of Christ is one.  We’re in this together so let’s share our experiences and help each other out on The Journey.

Until next time, be safe and keep the faith.
